"I have trusted Escoda brushes for many years. Their ability to hold shape and their amazingly fine point makes them a perfect brush for the task. I would be lost without them."
~ Joseph Zbukvic
Joseph Zbukvic is a leading master of his time in watercolour painting and techniques. His impressive achievements and enormous success are due to his ability to transform any subject into visual poetic language. Covering an inginite variety of subjects, his sensitive, lyrical and atmospheric paintings have captured people and galleries from all around the world.
The brush Joseph Zbukvic uses to create his watercolour masterpieces is the synthetic PERLA series, specifically sizes 8, 10 and 12, with the size 10 a "travel brush" version to work anytime or anywhere. Actually, it was himself who took the initiative to make a special "travel brush" version for his own use.
The brushes in this set have short handles.
I have use kolinski squirrel hair brushes for 30+ years. I never even bothered with synthetic. These are wonderful. I have even more control over the amount of water held in the brush. Try them. You will like them. Steve Fanelli (SAGINAW, USA) on 2 Nov 2012
A "Master" watercolor Artist, Joseph Zbukvic recommends these brushes, and there's no reason to wonder why, once you use them. When you need to make precise marks on your paper, these brushes hold their points, as well as any brush made. They do this and are still able to not be so soft as to not be resilient, and yet you feel confident that the precise point will be there when you need it. This "confidence" lends itself to "carry" you through the painting process, and the merits of this are simply outstanding. As Mr. Zbukvic teaches, you must have "faith" or confidence that you will be able to complete the painting, as you saw it , in your minds eye.As the title describes, "these" are the best tools you can own. These are a real pleasure to use. The synthetic fibres are great for general watercolour use and really simulate the flow and colour holding properties of any quality sable brushes I've used. they're a really good sable alternative, A serious all rounder.
