What is the International Watercolour Masters 2024?

Hosted every two years, the International Watercolour Masters is an incredible event that brings together a remarkable assembly of professional watercolour artists from all over the globe. It’s the concept of artist David Poxon, an elected member of the prestigious RI (Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours) and the NWS (National Watercolour Society of America). With 50 artists from 20 countries, you will have the chance to witness a vast array of styles and techniques all in once place. The event will take place in the beautiful village of Lilleshall, Shropshire, England from 15th to the 24th May 2024 and promises to be an unforgettable celebration of the art and beauty of watercolour.

Staged at Lilleshall Hall, the International Watercolour Masters Exhibition showcases paintings from some of the world’s most renowned watercolourists. This spectacular collection of work will feature pieces from 50 international artists who are the elite in their medium. Live Demonstrations

Demonstration at International Watercolour Masters

A series of Live Demonstrations will run alongside the exhibition at the International Watercolour Masters 2024. The Main Exhibition Hall will hold at least two demonstrations a day. Visitors will have the opportunity to watch some of the exhibiting artists at work, as they share their techniques and approach to watercolour painting. These demonstrations will be a fantastic opportunity to learn from the experts and to gain insights into how they create their stunning works of art. The price of your admission includes access to all the demonstrations.

Bring along your own equipment and materials and you’ll be able to work along with the masters stroke by stroke. Generally, all you’ll require is a basic palette of watercolour paints, a few brushes and paper. The workshops will cater to all levels of ability, from beginners to experienced artists. You’re sure to leave your workshop inspired with a new skill set to put to the test in your own paintings. Lilleshall Hall boasts full disabled access and parking, as well as disabled toilets and other facilities. Visitors can also enjoy an on-site cafe and restaurant. Lilleshall Hall itself was recently converted to a 4-star hotel, plus the nearby town of Telford also has many hotels and B&Bs to host your stay.

In addition to the amenities available on-site, Lilleshall is also perfectly situated for exploring the local area. There are a range of popular attractions located nearby, all within easy reach. Those who want to explore further afield can take a trip to Weston Park, Ironbridge Gorge and Museums, Hoo Farm, Telford Town Park and Wonderland, The Wrekin, or The RAF Museum Cosford. The historic market town of Newport, located just 4 miles away. Newport boasts a charming selection of independent shops, pubs, and restaurants for visitors to enjoy.
