Sennelier Oil Pastels have a prestigious history - originally created by Henri Sennelier in collaboration with Heri Goetz who requested a wax colour stick for his friend Pablo Picasso. They are a professional grade oil pastel made from top quality pigments, extremely pure synthetic binding medium and mineral wax. During their manufacture, pigments are ground with inert, non-siccative binding that does not oxidise - meaning they do not affect either film stability or surface. These pastels are manufactured with an exceptionally high pigment content which gives them excellent coverage and vibrant colour. With the exception of metallic and fluorescent shades, all Sennelier Oil Pastels offer a high degree of lightfastness.

  • Rich and creamy with good coverage

These pastels have a rich creamy consistency which means they are great for blending. I've used them on various surfaces and get good results. I think they take a bit of getting used to at first because they tend to warm up quickly and become too soft and break. Then you end up with lots of small soft pieces to put in a tin to use another time. It would be great if you could buy these individually from Ken Bromley as you don't always want to buy a box.
