  • Wow awesome paper!

If you like a really textured paper and perhaps use a "loose" style as I do you are going to love this paper. It reminds me of paper I once bought that was termed "Rugged" Sadly no longer available. I purchased both weights and have only used the 300gsm atm and I am overjoyed to have found a similar if not better paper. The surface is very easy to negotiate with large washes and allows a slightly longer drying time so wet in wet techniques are less demanding! I am sure you all know what I mean. I paint with a quick "florid" style and anyone else approaching in a similar manner will really enjoy this paper. No cockling on the 300gsm paper at half imperial btw. Enjoy and take care everyone.

  • Not for me

I have always stuck to the favourite watercolour papers but decided to try this paper out. For the style of watercolour painting I do, this is not for me. It may work ok with acrylic or a very thick watercolour consistency, but I tried a number of times, and felt unhappy with the results.

The Panart Handmade Rough Watercolour Paper is quite different to traditional machine made watercolour paper. The surface suites quite a loose technique.
