  • Very pleased

I love this larger version of the ceramic daisy palette. The pans are big enough to contain enough water and pigment for a large wash if required. I used the smaller 7 pan version for a while but am enjoying the flexibility of the 9 pans. The only down-side is that the back is unglazed (so don't leave it soaking under water) and can be a bit rough but this is soon smooth with use.

  • An excellent studio palette for watercolour

An excellent studio palette for watercolour: Get the big one if you can afford it.

Important advantages are a bright white colour - easier to judge your colour mixes and strengths; non-staining; non-corroding; good deep wells for mixing plenty of fluid colour; easy to clean; lasts forever, (unless like me you take it outdoors and it falls on concrete).

Disadvantages: expensive compared with cheap plastic palettes, but lasts a lot longer and stays white; no large flat area for mixing - the middle of the bigger palette is just OK; nowhere to keep a blob of paint straight from the tube, so you can strengthen the mix. My original 'daisy' had a flat area around each well for that - very useful.

Quite heavy, so stable in the studio, but harder to carry around than plastic or aluminium.

  • A nice little palette, much better than plastic.

Much better than the plastic one I have - No 'beading' of the paint on this ceramic/porcelain palette.
For info, It has quite deep wells, around 10mm on the 6" one I purchased - Very pleased.
