FW Artists Inks are acrylic-based, pigmented, water-resistant inks which have either a three-star or four-star rating for permanence.
Such a high degree of lightfastness over such a range of fully intermixable colors makes them ideal for use by artists in the production of pictures for permanent display. (Note – Fluorescent colors are not lightfast.)
Colors can be substantially diluted to achieve the most subtle of tones, very similar in character to watercolor. Such washes will dry to a water-resistant film and successive layers of color can be laid over them in a highly predicable manner.
FW Artists Inks work well with airbrushes, dip pens, technical pens, and brushes.
The Daler Rowney FW Artists' Ink set contains the following neon colours Fluorescent Yellow, Fluorescent Orange, Fluorescent Red, Fluorescent Pink, Fluorescent Blue and Fluorescent Green.
Acrylic inks are made using a pigment and a binder much like oils, acrylics and watercolours. Sometimes the binder and pigment may separate in the bottle and will need shaking to mix them again so that they are ready for use. This is more common in colours such as white and yellow, so you may find that these colours need more shaking than darker colours. The degree of separation varies from one range to another, and should not be considered a fault.
