The range consists of 70 transparent, semi-transparent, semi-opaque and opaque colours. They all have the highest degree of lightfastness (+++) and under museum conditions remain unchanged for at least 100 years. The range includes 32 mono-pigmented colours. There are also ten colours based on highly exclusive pigments - such as the cadmiums, cobalts and chromium oxides - as well as an exceptionally transparent oxide red or yellow.

Cobra Artist is an Artists' quality water mixable oil paint with an exceptionally high degree of pigmentation. Only the very best pigments and oils are used. During the grinding process the paint is ground on the triple roller mill until it reaches the fineness of an Artists' quality.
I paint in every medium but up 'till now I've avoided painting in oils because of the smell and ancillary products needed, though I've always wanted to. These paints are brilliant. Water mixture for the 'lean' start, days in-between to walk round the painting, assess, garden, sew, and still able to change anything that's not quite right, (or start a second painting) and then the fun part, even the 'fat' can be thinned with a little water, though I'm going to send for a medium to see if this too is odourless and what the difference is if any. Well done Cobra DELIGHTED. Sue Rouse (Harrogate, United Kingdom) on 29 Aug 2016
I usually use Artisan for my seascapes but noticed the larger range of colours in the Cobra range. What fabulous colours for tropical seas. Love them. Lynn Longworth (Nottingham, United Kingdom) on 10 Apr 2018
A very good transparent oxide. Alex Kelly (Sutton Coldfield, United Kingdom) on 5 Sep 2016
