It is a blend of 5 different diameters of extra smooth synthetic hair. daVinci has built specialized machines that can sort synthetic hair in varying diameters. This sorted hair is then turned over to a master brush maker who hand shapes the CosmoTop Spin. The thicker hair is placed on the outside and the thinner hair in the middle to ensure high colour-absorption while maintaining a fine point, stable shape, and energetic spring.

Cheap quality
Being a poor student, I went with this brush as it was a bit cheaper but still offered a good size for washes. You can also get some nice lines if you use the side for painting.

Very good quality brush and though I have only used it once so far, I found the bristles fluid reservoir to be generous, and made applying a wash to the paper very easy. I think I will be using this a lot from now on!

It holds water well and,when wet, forms a sharp chisel like end which is great for painting lines and will also put a wash onto large areas well. I like it!
