Winsor & Newton Professional Watercolour Paper Sheets

Winsor & Newton Professional Watercolour Paper Sheets are a traditional cylinder mould made, 100% cotton watercolour painting surface. Crafted in Italy by fine art paper making experts, this luxurious surface has optimal absorbency and extreme strength.

This paper offers the highest quality surface and produces smooth, even washes with lustre and transparency of colour. Each sheet is made from long, fine cotton fibres and is both internally and externally sized - this gives the paper its beautiful feel and strength as well as optimal water absorbency, pigment dispersion and lasting colour adherence.

Ideal for use with Winsor & Newton Professional Watercolour Paint. Also suitable for Gouache painting. It is also compatible with acrylic, pastel and charcoal, pencil, ink, watercolour pencils and watercolour markers.

This paper is Acid-Free, Archival and Non-Yellowing. It is FSC approved and has a natural white finish.

  • Very good paper

Always a fan of W&N paper so I was a bit concerned when I found out they had switched production to a different mill. It is a much different paper more similar to Fabriano. The colour shift is also a lot less dramatic making judging tones a lot easier. All in all a much improved paper which is still very good value.

  • Good quality

This paper is very nice, although I prefer the previous version of the W&N Professional paper for watercolour painting. I find this one to be better for gouache, and scans very nicely.
