  • Excellent easel

Excellent easel. Very sturdy. The usual very quick delivery from Ken Bromley as well.

Very pleased I went with this slightly heavier model compared to the cheaper brand, and I doubt the similar model from the dearer brand could be any better.

Missing out on the lower shelf doesn't bother me as I can always use a spare bit of board as a makeshift shelf for holding spare brushes, mediums etc,. Sean Ross (UK) on 4 Oct 2010

  • Almost the best all round easel

I wouldn't call this easel sturdy, it has a tendency to wobble under vigorous use. I improved this by purchasing two 1m lengths of 1cm steel from a DIY store and fixed them as a cross brace on the front legs. The result is now a rigid easel that accomodates the most frantic brushwork. I also cut off an inch with a table saw from the lower support bracket as it was too deep a shelf for the average canvas, the lip just kept getting in the way. However I'm now delighted with the easel though artwork also benefits from a broad backing hardboard sheet. The side tightning handles are plastic and feel they may not last long, but I'll be happy to replace them if they break with some large bolts and wingnuts. All in all I think I've made a good purchase and now have a highly versatile easel for life. Andrew Snowdon (Helston, United Kingdom) on 1 Jan 2013

  • Very good - Hamilton Studio Easel

Excellent design but with weakness in the bolt specifications. KB supplied spares, so all is well. Probably will benefit from a good oiling. Greteli Morton (Aberystwyth, United Kingdom) on 9 Nov 2012
