The new formula with honey has made this a top class paint. This little tin of eight colours is a good way to try out Senellier's paint. With the new formula I do not mix these paints with any other manufacturer to keep their purity. A Yellow Ochre would have been useful instead of the Thalo Green Light for the English landscape. However, when TGL is mixed with Payne's Grey a beautiful useful grey green towards Terre Verte is made. The French Vermilion is a lovely useful red and Cinerous Blue for skies like a stronger Coeruleum Blue. A little piece of shaped plastic on the lid would make a good mixing palette or one of KB's plastic palettes at 35p to slip in a polythene bag for the artist's sketching bag. Highly recommended. This is a lightweight watercolour set. I've never had a problem with the flimsy plastic insert, it's functional although none too sturdy. In the lid I added blobs of a cool red and Raw Sienna to mix a greater range of colours. Doing so makes this lovely little set even more useful. Another tweak I use is to wrap the end of the tiny brush in sellotape to increase its diameter so I can slide a cut off drinking straw on the end to make holding the brush easier. It's a great liner now I can hold it properly. Lola (UK) on 24 Nov 2019
Really intense, rich colour, wonderfully smooth consistency - flows like magic.from brush to paper. Useful range of colours, solid little box, just the right size for painting out and about. PS Nickolaus (Shrewsbury, United Kingdom) on 5 Jan 2017
