Renaissance features a generous filament of sable in gold plated ferrules. These are set in highly polished dark green handles which give the look and feel of a Pro Arte quality product. At around half the price of anything equivalent, Renaissance is the affordable sable.
These brushes have short handles.

I've a few of these brushes now and I find myself reaching for them most times I'm painting. They've got a lovely finish to them and the point stays well formed for smaller detail but also perform well side on using the belly of the brush. (not sure if that's the right term but you know what I mean)
This for me is a nice affordable range that has really good quality. Just need to add a few more to cover the range :) Simon Bush (Gorebridge, United Kingdom) on 18 Jul 2015
Wonderful brush to use!!!I like this far better than the series 7 brushes !!! I wish all my brushes were Renaissance rounds!!! I would readily swap for them.
The series 7 Miniature brushes I find not very good for me, as they will not hold sufficient paint to do fine lining -the same applies to the Series MP - I rarely use them for fine work yet that is what I bought them for....
One point to mention with the Renaissance is they have gold ferrules, an also gold tails ... I have lost count of the number of times I have reached for the brush, to find I have selected the wrong end !!!
Nevertheless, a brush which suits me far better than any other brush I own, including several series 7 brushes
Conclusion: Its not always the most expensive which proves to be the best....... John David Knight (Boston, United Kingdom) on 4 Dec 2012
I get through loads of brushes but I keep using these because they take the 'wear' of being used regularly and, more importantly, being cleaned frequently. I find they keep their points longer than cheaper brushes. Margret-ann Gray (York, United Kingdom) on 4 Aug 2012
