Loxley Wooden Kidney Shaped Palettes

I found it very difficult to find a pallet the size I needed till I came across this one and good quality

I ordered and received medium size which was larger than I expected. I enjoy using it, but wonder who'd have the strength to hold the large size for long periods

Have painted with acrylics for some years and wanted to get back into oil painting. My acrylic palette was not suitable so ordered this conventional kidney shaped palette. Taking note of previous reviews I opted for the 'medium' size and was surprised how large it was. I found the mahogany colour off putting but knew before buying I would remove this colouring anyway. Have given the palette a good rub down and prepared the surface with a quite a few coats of linseed oil and it has turned out as expected - beautifully smooth and silky, perfect for oils. The thumb hole felt a little uncomfortable for my grip but a little rub with sandpaper before the above treatment resolved that. All in all a super palette for the price.
