Loxley Gold Standard Stretched Canvas is a fine quality, triple acrylic primed 380gsm cotton canvas. These canvases are stretched onto a sustainably sourced, kiln-dried pine frame with a depth of 18mm. The canvas is 100% pure ctton witha medium grain. Each canvas is triple-primed with universal primer resulting in paints with less colour sink, and crisp brush strokes. The canvas is fastened with staples at the back of the frame which gives it a clean, tack free edge.
Suitable for use with oils and acrylics. Canvases are individually polywrapped.
We also sell Loxley Gold canvases below in carton sizes (often 5's and 10's) and at even cheaper prices. Click here to save more...
If you've every bought pre-stretched canvases you may have been suprised to find a small bag of wooden pieces attached to the back of the canvas stretcher. Many people wonder what they are actually for! These wedges can be inserted into the slots in the back of your canvas stretcher, and are used to tighten up the canvas fabric to stop it from loosening. The tension of your canvas will depend on how firmly and deeply you insert the wedges into the slots.
I use these for oils and acrylics, and I use them exclusively as they are, in my opinion, the very best by far in their price bracket and superior to many more expensive canvases.
Good solid straight stretchers, and a really tight well primed canvas. David Molloy (Rossendale,, United Kingdom) on 27 Jun 2012
Very cheap and well made. The delivery was quick and I even got a phone call from the delivery driver to tell me he was at my flat which meant I could rush back and avoided having to wait a couple of days extra to collect it at a depot which some delivery companies do. Nice touch. Thanks Thom Headley (London, United Kingdom) on 25 May 2012
I always use Loxley, I like the way you can paint round the edge instead of framing. And the quality is good, the weave is not too coarse or intrusive for fine-detailed work. Charmian Hayes (Milton Keynes, United Kingdom) on 7 Aug 2012
