If you've every bought pre-stretched canvases you may have been suprised to find a small bag of wooden pieces attached to the back of the canvas stretcher. Many people wonder what they are actually for! These wedges can be inserted into the slots in the back of your canvas stretcher, and are used to tighten up the canvas fabric to stop it from loosening. The tension of your canvas will depend on how firmly and deeply you insert the wedges into the slots.
I came on this website looking to buy an oil brush, I ended up also buying a carton box of 5 30"X20" deep edge canvas's, an oil medium, a varnish and Winton oils etc because of how low the prices were, I anticipated the parcel would not come for several days atleast because I order in the very early hours of sunday morning and I opted for standard delivery which was free. It came early tuesday morning in two separate boxes, superbly packaged with bubble wrap, each Item such as the brush and oils came in their own little packaging inside one of the larger parcels and the medium and varnish came wrapped in bubble wrap. Also along with two invoices and little thankyou note was included. I have never known a service of this quality and I am not blowing smoke but will only order my art materials from this website in the future. Highly recommended. Good tooth on it. No defects and taut surface. Kathleen Morris (Sawbridgeworth, United Kingdom) on 29 Jul 2014
one or two dents which appear on most of them. Also a couple of bumpy knots which are a problem for me as my surfaces are often very smooth so these bumps show up. Lynne Timmington (CHELMSFORD, United Kingdom) on 15 May 2015
