They're popular with artists not just to complement soft pastels when fine detail is required, but also as their own medium. The wooden casing of these pencils allows artists to enjoy the versatility of pastels but without all the dust and messy hands. PITT Pastel Pencils have a very compact lead which is economical to use and deposits vibrant colour smoothly. These pencils can also be easily blended to create delicate colour transitions. The colour range available puts particular emphasis on muted and earth tones important for pastel drawing. Suitable for use with fixatives.
