When you need to do a large drawing.
Once you get the feel for these blocks, they are easy to apply. Add water to have a more vibrant color drawing. Easy to hold, choose from wide sweeping strokes, to fine lines.

These are excellent for making graphite sketches with. I use them with a brush as one would with cakes or pans. It is a good idea to give the sketches a slight spray with fixative if the blocks are used more extensively, as they can shed some dust particles. If used as paint with a brush they are very cost-efficient and a great change of pace!
