  • MORE INFO

Prismalo Watercolour Pencils by Caran d'Ache are the first colour pencils with a water-soluble lead ever to be designed. Then they were invented in 1931 they revolutionised the drawing and illustration for artists. This new medium allowed a straight pencil line, to be transformed into watercolour opening up endless new opportunities for the artist.

With 80 luminous colours in the range, the high quality leads are highly resistant and fine with a high pigment density.

The tins sizes 30, 40 and 80 pencils come with 4 limited edition Prismalo Pastel colour pencils while stocks last.

The Prismalo Vintage Limited Edition tin of 80 pencils are available only while stocks last. Only 800 limited editions of the first iconic box were made to celebrate 80 years since Caran d'Ache manufactured the first water-soluble pencil.

For decades, these exceptional colour pencils have been shining ambassadors for the Geneva-based Maison’s indomitable spirit of innovation as well as its expertise. They have achieved truly iconic status and magnified both the name of Caran d’Ache and the Swiss Made quality label. Captivated by these many virtues, designers, illustrators and budding artists can indulge themselves to their heart’s content in producing drawings bursting with colour. This unbridled creativity gives rise to lines enhanced with watercolours, wet drawing, pointillism, hatching, gradation, overlaying techniques or metallic effects.

SWISS MADE
The colour pencils are completely coated in a glossy varnish matching the shade of the lead and are easily recognisable by their white caps. Entirely designed and manufactured in the Caran d’Ache workshops, according to the highest quality standards and in compliance with environmental norms and certifications, Prismalo pencils are a creative heritage in themselves. They have awakened the colourful memory of generations of artists who, as children, held in their hands the famous metal box with the image of the Matterhorn on the lid. Techniques: watercolour effects, wash technique, crosshatching, mixed media – can be combined with Pablo water-resistant colour pencils, Neocolor pastels and Gouache.
