Graphik Line Painters are a fine line paint pen that gives immense depth of colour, even on dark backgrounds. This pen brings with it so many creative possibilities; you can create layers, dribbles and even manipulate the wet ink with water to create all kinds of wonderful textures and effects! The water-based ink is opaque and permanent once dry and is available in a range of 20 different colours. We recommend that the ink is left to dry for roughly 30 minutes before it can be considered permanent.
These innovative pens have a robust 0.5 Japan nib which delivers a continuous, smooth, fluid paint line.
As the ink in permanent once dry,it can stain fabrics and clothing. In the event that you do get the paint on your clothes or fabric, make sure to keep the area wet until you are able to wash it properly. This will not guarantee that the ink will be fully removed, but it is much less likely to stain.
A range of Graphik Line Makers are also available to complement your Line Painters. These fine-liners can be used to work over your Line Painter drawings!
This video demonstrates a number of different techniques that can be used with the Derwent Graphik Line Painter pens including how to shake and pump the pen so it is ready for use. You can also see how the paint can be manipulated to create texture by adding water or by blowing or dripping paint directly from the nib!
