Oil paint has a thick buttery consistency straight out of the tube. The viscosity of the paint can be altered by thinning it with turpentine or white spirit. The addition of oils and mediums will alter the paints properties such as its drying time and transparancy.
Winsor & Newton Winton Oils are their student range of oil paints made from moderately priced pigments in a range of 46 colours.
Daler Rowney Georgian Oils are available in 54 colours with a high pigment load including traditional pigments cadmium and cobalt.
Water Mixable Oil Paints are oil colours made from a modified linseed oil which allows you to thin the paint, and clean up using water instead of the solvents required for traditional oil paints. They make a good start for people who can't tolerate the strong smells of solvents - especially when painting at home. In this section we have two ranges of water mixable oils - Artisan and Georgian Water Mixable Oils.
