Twitter Users Recreate Famous Artwork as a Sandwich

We completely missed this last summer but we wanted to show some appreciation for the #KunstGeschichteAlsBrotbelag hashtag (loosely translated as ‘Art History as a Sandwich’).

The hashtag was started by Marie Sophie Hingst (@MlleReadOn) and is essentially a group of German twitter users who recreated famous artworks using slices of bread as the canvas.

We love the effort that has gone into them. Here is a collection of some of our favourites.

If you want to see more examples search the #KunstGeschichteAlsBrotbelag hashtag on Twitter. Let us know which piece is your favourite either in the comments or on social media.
