"Rupert,

I find that an elastic band round the top of the dipper lid is all that is required to get a grip."

The problem with these...

"The problem with round metal dippers with lids is that they are virtually impossible to open when they and/or ones hands are covered in solvent and paint! A square metal dipper with a chunky screw top is what we need: something we can get a purchase on when the lid is stuck and we can't grip properly due to slippery hands."
