by Toni Hargreaves (Preston) on 28 Nov 2006"I buy lots of these canvasses and generally in a box of 10 there are 2 or 3 with faults. Sometimes its a flaw in the canvas weave which is annoying and the corner edges are a bit bashed. I work professionally and haven't time to return them but there doesn't seem to be anything else on the market other than the really expensive hand made ones. They are ok if you study them first and decide where you can hide the faults."
Ken Bromley's replies: If you ever have any problems with any of the canvases you receive, please let us know and we will replace any faulty ones for you straight away.

by David Molloy (Rossendale,, United Kingdom) on 18 May 2012"These canvases are in my opinion, the very best on the market for the price, and outshine many other more expensive ones. I use these mainly for acrylics, and they provide a great taught, well primed surface that stays that way and doesn't slacken as you are working.
The stretchers are good solid quality, and they are fixed at the back with the 'banding system', which doesn't require wedges, and the sides are really neat and well done for painting around if so required. I really love these, and for the price point I think that they are unbeatable and they look lovely when finished.
Incidentally, I use them for landscapes and wildlife and they look great."
Watch out for bowing on the larger sizes...

by Scott Carruthers (Perth) on 14 Sep 2009"Great value for money but the odd one from each carton does tend to be bowed and out of shape. You can sometimes twist them back though with a bit of care.
Service is top quality."
Ken Bromley's replies: If you ever have a problem with your canvas please let us know - we will always replace faulty ones.
Did you find this review helpful? yes | noGenerally ok
by Christine Derrick (Bristol, UK) on 13 Nov 2006"I've bought quite a few of these canvasses over the past year or so, and they are generally ok; the only criticism I have is that some canvasses are not constructed "on the square", so to speak; in other words their corners are not true right angles. This fault is, unfortunately, often only seen when a finished work is hung on the wall, and you see the "sloping sides"."
Ken Bromley's replies: Over the past few years we have had the rare occasion when there has been a fault with these canvases. Thousands of Loxley canvases are sold each week and unfortunately now and again the odd faulty one slips through the net. If anyone encounters any problems with Loxley Gold canvas please contact Ken Bromley Art Supplies right away as it is our policy and practice to replace any faulty canvases without delay.
