"I read a lot about paint quality and composition, and just lately Daniel Smith has been emerging as a serious contender to W&N, so I was very pleased to find them available in the UK from Ken Bromely.

I am so glad I tried them - they present the most beautiful, jewel like tones, and their pigment strength seems much stronger than W&N - meaning that you can do more with less paint. Some of the marketing spiel is a little romantic, but they are a joy to use, and have completely won me over. I am gradually replacing my entire palette with these. Try them - I guarantee you won't be disappointed."

"A most unusual water colour as it almost has texture and is not a colour that I've found in other ranges. Great for sand and stone. Haven't yet come across a Daniel Smith watercolour paint that I don't like."

"Beautiful quality and lovely colours. However, will need to return the lemon yellow as it was solid in the tube. Contacted Ken Bromley and they sent their Freepost address to send back for either refund or replacement which I must do soon. But will get more Daniel Smith watercolours when I have a few more pennies."

"The quality of the paints is superb. Gorgeous, rich colours. I bought red, yellow and blue and the result of the mix of the paints is unlike any other range, sooo beautiful. You also need so little of the pigment to mix with water. Will definitely buy more. Can't wait."

Despite drawbacks I won't hesitate to recommend the PrimaTek Series

"My experience is limited to the PrimaTek Series, which is full of intriguing possibilities in terms of gorgeous and startling effects.
They are understandably more expensive than the other colours, but unfortunately they are also less economical in use."
